Re: Do you oveclock?

Yup, when I have enough money that is lmao. With my last PC I took it from 2.0GHz to ~2.7GHz while I could. Did a bit of volt-modding to the NB and upgraded the motherboard cooling cuz it was passive and overheating. It only ran a few months at that speed, then my mobo started crapping out. I believe I was able to hit 265MHZ FSB @ 1:1 which is pretty decent for an NF2 based system, ran a 10 multi at those speeds.

Re: Do you oveclock?

So...what did you learn Eric? haha

Interesting results so far...I expected an inverse curve, since people either don't bother or get into it pretty deep. Only 6 votes though. Another fantastic turn out

I'm pretty close to throwing in the towel

Re: Do you oveclock?

lol, I learned to wait for better technology that can handle the power I want out of it :P The NF2 setup was just too hot, and Intel's chips were hitting 3GHz at the time. So all the AMD guys wanted there 2.0GHz Socket-A machines to be able to match GHz I guess. Things really got busy when they released the XP--M chips that had a better overclocking overhead and stayed cooler...but then the motherboards started being your bottleneck.

Re: Do you oveclock?

If it's HP built it's probably locked in the BIOS. You might be able to get a modded BIOS, but your hardware (mainly motherboard) will not take kindly to any kind of overclock i'm sure. Most manufactured (HP, Dell, Compaq, etc.) PC's can't overclock at all.
