BSOD Problems

Hey, having problems with my pc. Three times in the last couple of hours i've got a blue screen of death, once completely blank, and twice with the same message:

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damge to your computer.

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart you computer, press F8 to select Advanced startup options, and then select Safe Mode.

Technical information:

*** Stop: 0x000000D1 (0x00000030, 0x00000007, 0x00000000, 0xF77909A0)

*** viamraid.sys - Address F77909A0 base at F7786000, DateStamp 4063e304"

Not the most techy person :P A bit worried, don't normally see the BSOD. Only recent changes were downloading the Star Wars: Galaxies at War demo from fileshack, which hasn't been installed, and the latest MSN Messenger update today. Haven't followed the steps yet because I really don't know what I'm doing. Simplified advice would be much appreciated. If there is anything else you need to know to help me fix this, ask away. Thanks

Re: BSOD Problems

Hi Bael, welcome to itsallPC

I'm sorry to say that it might be time to reinstall Windows. :-\

I've never been able to fix this issue when it isn't accompanied by defective piece of hardware or bad driver. If you didn't didn't do anything other than install that game...it'll be much quicker to just reinstall Windows.

Have you performed this operation before?
