Hi oscartony. Could you tell us more about what you mean? Your ip address is issued to you via your isp.
So what do you mean by changing your ip? Thanks Loz

Re: IP Address
Hi There it is not possible to change your ip address in the way you are thinking. Your Ip address is given to you by your isp.
The options you do have are:- 1 Phone your ISP and ask for a new IP address but they will give you a fixed IP address then at a charge. 2 Use some form of Proxy server software. Then you can mask your IP address so that you can surf with safety. There are several options out there in internet land you can have paid services like proxify.com This is a browser based proxy or you can actually have some form of proxy software on your pc. Google Proxy software. There are some free options out there as well:- Google Anonymous Proxy and there will be a load of sites showing you anonymous proxies. But remember that they do not and never will change your server assigned IP address! Also remember that some free services are dangerous and you must read up about anonymous Proxies before using them. Loz

Re: IP Address
This kind of method will not change your ip address as your ip address is assigned by your server.
this can change an adapters ip addres. Your Isp issuses you an ip when you sign on by using DCHP.... To change your adapter IP. You can use the method you have been told. With XP/2000 you can release and renew your adapter IP information by typing ipconfig /release or ipconfig /renew as required. Note the space after typing ipconfig. For cable.. (xx denotes any number in the IP range) 10.xx.xx.xx This is a private IP. This is the IP address you should expect before completing the registration process. 81.xx.xx.xx 80.xx.xx.xx 213.xx.xx.xx All of the above are public IP address for the set top box service and will allow you to surf the net and use email etc. 192.xx.xx.xx This is a private IP address that has been assigned to the computer. Typically a computer with this IP address will have previously been used on some sort of Network or will be behind a router. To rectify this make sure all other equipment including routers and switches have been removed. Also ensure that TCP/IP is configured to automatically receive an IP address. In many cases with a 192 IP you will find that the TCP/IP properties are set to manual. 169.xx.xx.xx A 169 IP is the default Windows assigned IP when Windows cannot reach the DHCP server to get a valid IP. This is often caused by faulty cabling or a hardware fault. 0.0.0.0 An IP with all zeroes usually means that the DHCP client isn't running locally on your computer or there is a hardware fault. See the trouble-shooting section for help on this. For wireless of modem router Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600] (C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp. C:\Documents and Settings\xxxxxxx>ipconfig Windows IP Configuration Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 2: テつ! テつ! テつ! テつ!
