Press release... ALIENWARE AURORA SYSTEMS

ALIENWARE AURORA SYSTEMS NOW AVAILABLE WITH AMD ATHLON 64 FX-57 PROCESSOR
Aurora Systems Deliver Enhanced Levels of Power and Cinematic Realism to 32-Bit and 64-Bit Games and Applications with the AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 Processor
MIAMI, FL June 27, 2005 - Alienware®, a leading manufacturer of high-performance desktop, notebook, media center, and professional systems, announced that select Alienware Aurora ™ systems are now available to be configured with the new
AMD Athlon â„¢ 64 FX-57 processor. Aurora systems featuring the AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 processor allows users to run both 32-bit and 64-bit games and intense applications at extreme power on the same system.

Available now on Alienware Aurora 7500 and Aurora ALX systems, the AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 processor is designed to optimize the performance and realism of 3D games that require large amounts of memory. An integrated DDR memory controller directly connects the processor to the memory, combined with cutting-edge HyperTransport â„¢ technology, greatly increasing bandwidth and reducing latency. This facilitates games and applications to load faster and run smoother for enhanced game play.

Aurora systems powered by the AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 processor offer a number of innovations to enhance the user experience, including Enhanced Virus Protection* and Cool‘n’Quiet ™ technology. Enhanced Virus Protection hinders the spreading of malicious viruses, while Cool‘n’Quiet technology reduces the heat output of systems and enables quieter operation.

“Alienware understands the needs of gamers who seek the ultimate in performance for power-hungry games, and therefore has worked to ensure that AMD’s latest processing technology is accessible to customers right away,” said Patrick Cooper, director of product management for Alienware. “Powered by the AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 processor, Aurora systems are elevated another step higher from the industry norm.”

“The AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 processor is the latest technology in the groundbreaking history of AMD64 architecture, and Alienware Aurora systems offer a perfect means for experiencing this newest advancement firsthand,” said Jonathan Seckler, senior product manager, Desktop Business, Microprocessor Solutions Sector, AMD. “ Aurora systems equipped with the AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 processor will be able take on everything from today’s hottest 3D games to intense 32-and 64-bit software applications for PCs.”
