Hi i have bought an External 500GB Portable Hard Drive eSATA + USB2.0 and the its made by Hitachi.

It says it is plug and play and im using windows XP.

When i first plugged it in via usb it work great and didnt have to do anything to get the drive working.

When i plugged it in via sata it read the drive as 128gb?

I decided to format the drive to see if that would help and all it did was make things worst. As soon as the drive had formated (3 hours later) it just said "could not format" making the drive unusable.

After this i decided to try using the drive via usb again, but again after double clicking my hard drive (f) it just says the drive in (f) is not formatted , do you want to format it now?, after formating the drive then reads at 831 gb. So i formatted the drive via admin tools and now the drive reads correct at 465.76gb but yet again the drive still says it is not formatted and i cant use it.

Any help greatly appreciated, ive spent hours on this and im bored, cheers =)
