my old laptop gave up the ghost a few weeks ago........the repair co sent the hdd back to me, question? is there such a thing as an adaptor to turn it into an external usb hdd?

as I now have a new LT with vista installed...........it will not support my email address (hotmail on windows live) I was thinking of getting an external usb hdd and installing windows xp on it so that I can still use hotmail off line to compose, would this idea work?????

Yes, search google eg 'external hdd box', you will see a great variety.
Just slide ur laptop hdd into it, plug into usb and u have an external drive small enough to fit in shirt pocket.

thanks for the info, I thought it could be done but I rang PC World tech guys and was told just to add it into my new LT,........... wallys.........no space.

I saw something like you discribed on ebay so I think I'll get one, thanks.

BTW I also live in England for 5 months and then go to Spain (Murcia) every winter from Oct to end of May..................way to live

Hi, your welcome, I use 3 of them, they are great. Take a complete computer with u when u go somewhere in ur top pocket. Great.
Im down in Malaga, but get up to Murcia every now and again.
