I think you have to set the drive boot order in the BIOS, depending what BIOS your board has will determine where in the BIOS it is, jsut flick thru til you find it, if not, look it up :-)
Once you've done that, i suggest you shutdown, and unplug your IDE HD's, just incase you accidently install the OS on them.
Just put the XP disc in and install as normal, i believe XP (possibly just the 1 with SP2?) picks up SATA drives sutomatically, it only really has a problem picking up RAID arrays, but you wont need to worry about that.
If you delete the partition from the other drive, you should only lose the data from that partition, however i think this may depend on the setup? i cant rememeber how to explain it but if the other 200gig is "linked" to the partition you delete, i'm not sure if this will delete the other 200gig as well...
If not, the other 200gig should remain as is, the 20gig partition you delete will just become unpartitioned space which you will not be able to tag onto the other 200, without the use of such tools as partition magic (not reccommended, can make a mess of things).
Syphus, can you give a better explanation of the partitioning thing?
