Can anyone help me????????

I am not very expert in the pc world.テつ! I have a pc that was 'rebuilt' for me as a present, windows xp was installed and thats all that i needed to know.....until i had a virus called something like 'wenusave...'.テつ! I am confident that the virus has been removed but it has left me with a pc that wont access any secure pages on the net and it also wont let me use any of the windows xp programs other than wordpad.テつ! Outlook and net connection are ok and thats about it.テつ! I cant even get into msn hotmail or messenger.テつ! Its soooo frustrating but i dont have the spare cash at the moment to get it fixed by a professional.テつ! I have been lent 2 discs - one called Operating System CD and Driver Recovery CD.

Is there anything i can do to fix my problem by using these discs and if so how?テつ! If not does anyone have any other ideas on how i can self-fix my pc or is it definately specialist attention that is required?

I'd be grateful for any genuine ideas that may help me.テつ! テつ!???

Hello tinkerb. >>> = Next

backup all of your important data onto cd>>>

Turn your pc off (shutdown) >>> Restart your pc and press DEL or F2 it will tell you what 2 press to get into the bios >>> In the bios look for boot options and make the option CD - HDD - Network etc.
>>> put your operating system CD in
Save these settings and exit. ( look at the menu at the bottom of the bios page)

Boot the computer from CD,

If the disk says install windows press yes or ok and follow the instructions

get back to us and tell us what has happened and i will tell you what to do next.

Re: Can anyone help me????????

basically you need to reinstall your OS as probably some dll and other important files for making it work have been deleted. You will have to set up the internet again but it should be fine. Loz
