Hi,I have had a recent problem with a constrast trojan that the ace xoftspyse program picked up (its great,even picks up ads from msn plus+)
It couldn't delete it and i was stumped.Searching google didn't help with no results.heres a small tut incase you cant remove it.

1.download a program that removes files on startup (search google for remove files on startup).

1.A.If your clever enough you can skip step 1 and write a batch file to do it instead (not recommended).(details on all that,not here

2.Set the program to remove a file called xpdx.sys in X:/windows/system32/ (where X is your drive letter/number).

3.Restart your PC after your sure that it is set to delete the file.

4.Check again and hopefully it should be gone!

Nice post on trojan removal. Nevertheless malware fighting procedure always isn't that easy. Sometimes we need multiple tools to get rid of these malwares. There are few websites that offer boot camp for users on malware fighting without charge. For example SWI Forums and Tom Coyote.

Your tutorial is one of the ways to stop the trojan from running during system start up, but not completely terminate the trojan recites in your system. For example registry values...No flame, it's very dangerous to remove malware from a system without any help from graduated helper. Some malware drop files seems very similar to system file, for example svchost.exe and scvhost.exe; some of them even have the same name but the only difference is the file extension...

oh.good point.WEll this program picked up the trojan and if it did leave a registry vak then it would pick that up aswell.anywa good point
