Hello and welcome to the forum,

Are you using the free version of AVG?
As far as I know the free version was discontinued last week, although if you are looking for a good free alternative try this

Solution to your problem

Hi,
If you are looking out for a free antivirus software download an older version of avg and try installing that.

Or if you want you could try using the free trial version of eScan AV by MicroWorld Tech. Inc.

This is the antivirus I used to get rid of the same problem I had with Mcafee.

Try to install eScan AV and run a scan of your system and delete or quarantine all harmful content. Once this is done try installing avg again and uninstall it to get rid o0f all the damaged files.

I suggest you use escan as it is a much more stable program using lower system resources as compared to most of the other Antivirus softwares
