There is this guy who is threatening all of my friends... for some reason, I dont know why.. who goes by the msn contact of (address removed by moderators).
There is no info on him, not even a name, nothing! How can I find out who he is? We may know who he is but until we are 100% sure we cannot inform anybody of this situation.
Please help, is there any way to view somebodys information on MSN Messenger?
I tried that view contact info right-clicking but there is nothing available, and this is not a game, it is something very serious.

No, you can't view his details, MSN aren't allowed to show them to you without his permission.

If it is as serious as you say then you could go to the police...

You can only view information on MSN users that they themselves have elected to reveal, anything other is a privacy violation. If this is as serious as you say, you should report the abuse to authority at MSN, including logs of conversations with the individual, and they may suspect the account.

You must understand that if you're asking for a method to obtain information beyond that which is elected by a user, you're actually attempting to invade someone's privacy. People are unlikely to assist you in this illegal task unless you provide some sort of legitimization.

Saying that they are making threats over an instant messenger program is pretty insubstantial...

nah Im not searching for any illegal methods of obtaining information... I just need the person's name. Im not asking for adress or phone number.. Im just saying that if a person happens to add you to his contact list, then you should at least know who... right? I mean it is pretty reasonable. And apart from that, this guy IS to be taken seriously since he is among one of my college classmates... can't have people like that wandering around.
anyways... if its impossible to know a mere name without it being illegal, then i guess I have no other choice than to contact MSN.

As Syphus says "I'm not really sure how serious someone can threaten you over the internet. What can they do?" Its more than likely they've just got a low boredom threshold and cant find something more useful to do with their spare time.
