Network printer shows as offline
Samsung CLP-600N printer at work shows as offline in the printer list. It can be manually restarted, but I'm not sure how. It gets switched off every night and then shows as offline the following day. It never used to happen, but it seemed to start when the techie came in and installed Vista drivers on someone elses machine. I'm still using XP.
Also, the Vista drivers don't actually work, but I'll save that for another day!!!! |

It's probably a co-incidence, or the new driver has taken control of power management.
Has anyone messed around with the power management settings on the printer? Are the drivers the most current release? Seems like the "techie" made a mistake and should come and fix it. Blaming the driver or OS is far more convenient for some support staff than spending time figuring out where they've stuffed up. |
