Are Laser mouses dangerous?
Hello
I believe that optical mouses are completely safe, how safe are these new laser mouses? My spec is:- Laser Mouse Complies with international standard IEC 60825-1:2001-08, class 1 laser product Also complies with 21 CFR1040.10 and 1040.11 except for deviations pursuant to laser notice No.50, dated july 26, 2001:1 Emission of a parallel beam of infrared user-invisible light Max power 716 microwatts Wavelength range 832-865 nanometers Operating temperature between 0C (32F) - 40C (104F) I am obviously not going to stare into the infrared beam on purpose, but like most situations in life, you may find yourself inadvertantly looking at the bottom of the mouse if it fell on the floor for example Thanks Gary |
