hooking a PC up to a TV - help required please

Hi, im not massively clued up as far as computers are concerned so forgive me if any of this does not make sense!!!

Basically, whilst I was browsing my local charity shop I picked up a PC for £20, pentium 3, 20gb hd, cd writer, dvd drive and a 17" moniter, which I thought was a bit of a bargain.

My fella is into these flight simulators that you can get for the PC and he's decided that we should hook up the new PC to the TV so that we can have the PC going through the widescreen TV. The only thing is we have no idea how to go about it.

We have heard from people that we can get a cable with a USB on one end and a scart on the other and this might do it, but not seen any anywhere. Also been told that we need a video-out on the back of our PC, which I dont think we have.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Re: hooking a PC up to a TV - help required please

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Not a bad price for that.
In order to hook up a PC to a TV you will need a compatible connector at the back of your PC.
You will probably need a Graphics Card with an S-Video out.
If your Graphics Card doesn't have this you can upgrade to one that does, or you can purchase a PCI Card with S-Video out.
Have a look at the back of your PC and check for this.

If you don't have one then you can purchase one at any reputable computer store or online.

I was looking around for some pictures to help you with this and found some here:

If you have any other questions be sure to post back ;D
