new build help badly needed as im stuck

Hi im new to this forum and would be glad of any help with my computer problem.i've been learning about pcs for the last year and have recently attempted to build myself a new computer for the first time. everything is put together but no joy. i'm capable of physically attaching all the hardware and have previously repaired my old computer but starting from scratch is proving astruggle . i wonder if im missing something really obvious. im pretty certain everything is compatible but i'l list it
case-antec p180,
psu antec tp3-650,
mobo gigabyte ga-p31-ds3l,
intel core 2 duo e2160 lga775 1.80ghz 800fsb,
memory- geil 2x1gb pc2-6400c4 800mhz ddr2 dual channel kit,
sapphire ati radeon hd 2600 pro 256mb ddr2 hdtv dual dvi pci express

its all connected but when i start it up cpu fans spin for afew seconds then stops. i have no beeps and nothing on my display. i've took it apart and put it together many times but now im at aloss. i've wondered if the cpu and bios are the problem so tried a different processor but still the same. im out of my depth at the moment and if anyone out here can spot a silly mistake im not noticing id be very grateful.
any ideas anyone
Alun

lights

Some motherboards have a light near the CPU that will light up if there is a problem with the CPU if so make sure the CPU is in and the fan is connected properly.
Other than that make sure all hardware is installed correctly more than likely it is compatable its hard to put two pieces of hardware that arent compatible together due to the notches that limit it in ram and the CPU.

Did you connect the p4 power socket to the mobo? It's a square 4 pin power cable from the psu, it should plug in near the cpu usually.

That's what i forgot when i did my second build, as my previous one hadn't needed it :-P
