Smile emachine wont power on after small upgrade

Hi all,

I have got a problem with my emachine 610, in that it wont power on, no sign of life at all, the only thing I have reciently added is a new sound card 2 days ago, which I have had up and running until this morning when I could get no sign of life from the PC.

So i removed the sound card and tried to power on and no sucess, then tried a different PSU and tried just connectiong minimal components still no sucess, then I cleared CMOS settings and still no sucess, I have read numerous posts regarding emachines and their faulty PSUs and mboards.

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appriceated

Hi there, Welcome to ItsAllPC.

Have you tried a different power lead? Your fuse might have gone.

Hi thanks for the reply

Yes I have tried a different power lead and different socket to no sucess, I have since tried the emachines psu in another pc and it powers up fine, so this would make me think the mboard is damaged somehow.

Yes you are allowed to use your current license. As far as I know Microsoft usually allow 5 or 6 different hardware changes per license - so if the key code doesn't work again just give Microsoft a call and explain the situation - they *should* help you out.
