Hi all Just Joined Hope you can Help...

Hi to all, I've a pc gaming problem but i'm not very technical just hoping someone can help..please.

I enjoy playing flight sim games fs2002/04 i've had the same pc for 3-4 years and had no probs... now and then when i play the game the the game just stops... the reported problem seems to lie with my graphics card ' NVIDIA Geforce2 MX/MX400 ' .
Is it a matter of upgrading, if so whats a good replacement, or is it something else?
Hope you good people can help.
Thanks Dave

Re: Hi all Just Joined Hope you can Help...

Could be a driver problem uninstall the old drivers and install the latest drivers for your card. If you want to upgrade good idea!!
But we will need 2 know the specs of your computer like what motherboard cpu etc. so we can tell you a card that will work for you...

Hello dave.. Ok upgrading your graphics card. there are many good cards on the market. The 2 best companies are ATI and nVidia. Ok the next question is how much money are you willing to spend on a new card?
If we know how much we can guide you to the best card for the money. Loz

I found ths card on amazon.co.uk http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...378642-7196451 256mb for テつ」166 this is quite a good deal for this card.

Re: Hi all Just Joined Hope you can Help...

LOL yes i can understand that. So how much do you actually have 2 spend? This will give us a chance to find a good card for your budget.
If you are looking for a budget option then this is a good buy http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=63698

This will cover most of you gaming needs 256 is better but 128 is 2x as much memory as you have now.. And it should be just a simple swap for your cards... Remember to uninstall you old graphics card drivers first before you install the new card..

Or if you want cheaper you can get a used card like this one for 30テつ」

Wowwwwwww テつ」32 pound for a Sapphire Radeon 9600SE 128MB ok its used but that is cheap.. You cant go wrong with a Radeon and the 9600 even as an older card is still a good graphics card...I am going to get one of these cards now.. It has the well known and well loved M10 chip ...Top find loz..

Re: Hi all Just Joined Hope you can Help...

Hi,
I was thinking about テつ」100 - テつ」150 , if a new graphic card stops the game freeze i'll be a happy bunny. I'll need a descent one with all the addons i have for micro flight sim.

geforce2 mx/mx400 64mb isn't much is it..lol ;D ;D Dave.

Re: Hi all Just Joined Hope you can Help...

Dave the card Loz found for テつ」66 or テつ」32 pounds is more than enough for the game you want to play. It has the M10 chip and that has been an industry standard chip for a while. If you want to go up from there look more at memory rather than M11 chip etc.

So 256mb is better than 128mb... If you can find a card using DDR 3 mem then even better. Fro テつ」150 you wot get better than this in my opinion....
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=86362

This card will be good for a long time....

Here is all the jargon on this card http://www.connect3d.com/products/agp_x800.htm get this and your games will fly faster than your pixel planes lol

Re: Hi all Just Joined Hope you can Help...

Dave the card you found is good enough for what you need its an older model but if you are not looking for super fast high spec graphics its a good card. And its cheap. With your old P4 system this card will be easy to install plug it and play it install the drivers and you are away. It uses the old DDR mem but not 2 worry... 256mb great...

I would think about getting a fan to cool the GPU as i think this card is cooled passively

So i say price of card good. Type of card good suitable for system and your needs...

Hope this has helped u caddy
