Help with operating system not found
Hi,
First I need to tell all that I don't know much about fixing computers that is why I am here for someone to hopefully have an answer to my problem. A couple days ago the mouse on my computer kept locking up and the only way to get it to work was to restart the computer. I decided yesterday to try and redo my computer thinking that might help the problems I was having. When I put in the recovery disc it started to run it then stopped and just gave me a blank blue screen which should have had the factory restore screen on it to show the progress of the restore. But all that was showing up was the blue background. I took out the disc and tried to start the computer and I then got a message saying operating system not found on any devices. Press any key to try again and when pressing a key to try again the same message still came up. Just wondering if this is something that can be fixed or if it is ready for the trash. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Re: Help with operating system not found
Hi Carla, welcome to itsallPC
![]() The first best thing to do would be to run some hardware diagnostics, including a memory diagnostic and Hard Disk Drive surface scan. For the memory diagnostic, I recommend Memtest86+. You will need a floppy disk (for floppy version - current at date of posting) or blank writable CD (for ISO version - current at date of posting). Allow the diagnostic to complete at least 1 "Pass". For HDD diagnostic, I will need to suggest a manufacturer specific utility, but I cannot do this since you have not given any details about your system. Because you are new to itsallPC, I strongly suggest you read this. |
