i have deffinitly got the right, most up to date sound drivers installed, the sound connectors shouldnt be damages because when the board was in my family pc no one ever used the sound on it or done anything to the pc exept use it for web browsing ect.

the ram thing, i think there might just be a compatibility issue it should work properly on the new board i have which i cant use untill i can afford a processor lol,

im next goin to re-install windows when i have some spare time and install the sound drivers before anything else to see if it is a confliction somewhere,

hopefully then find what it is conflicting with and not install that peice of software/driver,

also the RAM i have is only single sided could that be a problem with the board/processor being able to handle it??

thanks for the help...
