Hi DanielC,

There are 2 options avialable,
1) You could set the jumpers on the back of your corrupted hard drive (If IDE) to slave and plug it into your new PC (the jumper settings can be found on the hard drive itself usually). Make sure you boot from your working drive an access the corrupted drive from you VIsta drive. Most new PC have bios's that can automatically detect new drive on bootup. If you boot from the working drive on your new PC you should be able to access the corrupted one from My Computer. Then its justa case of copying everything across. (Harder Option)
2) USB caddy would probably be easier+ quicker but if your windows OS is not booting then you wont be able to access the data on the corrupted drive. (this is why the 1st option is preferable). You need a working OS on the hard drive before you can access the files and transfer the data. The only way of using the USB caddy without the OS working is to use a LiveCD with an OS like Linux on it like Knoppix.(latest version) KNOPPIX - Mirrors (choose a mirror). this lets you boot from CD an all you need to do is plug in you caddy to copy files over.

All The Best CYBER
