Re: which cable to connect surround sound stereo to sound card?

I will reiterate.

If you have one of these:

Your speakers use a unified connector called a mini-din. Your Creative Soundblaster Audigy 2 has outputs for 3 3.5mm stereo jacks. One jack is for Stereo sound, head phones, or in Surround Sound mode the front speakers; a second jack is for the rear speakers and a third jack is for the centre speaker and sub. For 6.1 and 7.1 the designation of the cables gets a bit more complicated. If you look directly at the back of the card, on the far left there is a IEEE 1394 connector, then Channel 3 (sub/centre, usually uses a yellow cable), Channel 2 (rear, usually uses a black cable), and Channel 1 (front/stereo, usually uses a green cable). After that there’s Mic, Aux and Digital out. Note that this applies only to the Audigy 2, not Audigy 2 ZS, Value, or anything like that.

Anyway, in order to connect your speakers (9-pin mini-din) to your sound card (3 x 3.5mm stereo jacks) you require an adaptor cable which should have come with the package.

I cannot give you any additional information without the exact model of your speakers.
